YEIDA to Launch Affordable Housing Scheme Near Noida Airport

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is set to launch a significant affordable housing initiative offering 6,500 residential plots near the upcoming greenfield Noida international airport. This initiative aims to provide an affordable home-building opportunity for the lower middle class, a demographic often sidelined in the urban sprawl of rapid development.

Scheduled to launch following the lifting of the model code of conduct next month, the scheme presents a mix of plot sizes: 6,000 plots will measure 30 square meters each, estimated to cost around ₹8 lakh, making them accessible to a broader base of the population. Additionally, around 500 larger plots, ranging from 200 square meters to 4,000 square meters, will be available, with prices set at approximately ₹24,000 per square meter. This tiered pricing strategy accommodates varying financial capabilities, ensuring more inclusive access to property ownership.

Arun Vir Singh, YEIDA’s CEO, emphasized the authority's commitment to middle and lower middle-class families, recognizing their right to establish homes within this rapidly developing urban area. The proximity to the Noida airport enhances the locality's appeal, potentially boosting the region's economic profile and connectivity.

The distribution of these plots will be conducted through a lucky draw, maintaining transparency and equal opportunity for all applicants.
