UP RERA clears 17 projects across eight districts worth Rs. 4,844.43 crore, adding 5,726 units, with Lucknow accounting for nine approvals and Rs. 2,203 crore.

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has approved 17 real estate projects across eight districts of the state, involving a proposed investment of Rs. 4,844.43 crore. The projects are expected to add 5,726 residential and commercial units to the state's development pipeline, with Lucknow accounting for the largest share.
Projects have been given clearance in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Kanpur, Meerut, Ayodhya, Firozabad and Moradabad districts during the 217th, 218th and 219th meeting of the authority held at its headquarters under the chairmanship of UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy. The proposals were examined before being cleared.
Lucknow received approval for nine of the 17 projects, comprising six residential developments, one mixed-use project and two commercial developments. Together, these projects involve an estimated investment of Rs. 2,203.27 crore and are expected to comprise 3,031 units.
The district accounts for the largest share of the proposed investment, representing around 45% of the total amount involved in the approvals. Its project mix also includes commercial and mixed-use developments alongside residential projects, indicating that the latest clearances cover more than housing supply.
The concentration of approvals in Lucknow makes it the largest contributor to the proposed development activity under this round. The remaining projects are spread across seven other districts, with varying levels of investment and project scale.
Ghaziabad received approval for two residential projects involving a proposed investment of Rs. 943.28 crore. The projects are expected to add 1,016 units to the district's residential supply.
In Gautam Buddh Nagar, UP RERA cleared one mixed-use project with an estimated investment of Rs. 940.43 crore. The development is expected to comprise 456 units. The two districts together account for nearly Rs. 1,884 crore of the total proposed investment, making them the next-largest contributors after Lucknow.
Kanpur also received approval for a residential project involving an estimated investment of Rs. 524.66 crore. The project is expected to comprise 597 units.

The remaining approvals cover residential projects in Meerut, Ayodhya, Firozabad and Moradabad. Meerut's project involves an estimated investment of Rs. 194.28 crore, while the project in Ayodhya is valued at Rs. 26.61 crore.
Firozabad received approval for a residential development involving Rs. 10.87 crore, while Moradabad's project has an estimated investment of Rs. 1.03 crore. Each of these districts received approval for one project. The latest approvals follow a period of significant registration activity in the state, with UP RERA recording 217 real estate projects between January and September 2026.
UP RERA said the approved developments are expected to support construction activity and generate direct and indirect employment. The projects may also create demand for allied sectors such as construction materials, transportation and engineering.
Bhoosreddy said timely disposal of project proposals and regular monitoring were important to ensure that projects progressed as planned. UP RERA said it would monitor the approved projects for compliance with the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, and to protect homebuyers' interests.
