Uttar Pradesh plans a 500-acre Singapore City in YEIDA near Noida Airport to attract global investment in semiconductors, logistics and green energy.

Uttar Pradesh government to build 'Singapore City' in Sector 7 of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area near Noida International Airport: The Uttar Pradesh government intends to construct a 'Singapore City' in Sector 7 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in the vicinity of Noida International Airport. State-sponsored Singapore City is expected to encourage investment from Singapore-based firms and foster industry collaboration in sectors including logistics, data centres, green energy, semiconductors, and urban planning.
The proposal was discussed at a meeting in Lucknow between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a 14-member delegation of Singaporean industrialists and investors. This meeting was part of the state's ongoing efforts to strengthen investment ties with Singapore, following the chief minister's visit to the country in February 2026.
CM Adityanath also proposed the idea of Singapore City near the new airport and explored other proposals for collaboration during the meeting. The UP government will allocate some 500 acres for the project in YEIDA Sector 7.
The development will also draw on Singapore know-how in areas like multimodal logistics, high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, and electronics fabrication, and data centres, cloud services and artificial intelligence. Other cooperation areas mentioned in the MOU are solar energy, green hydrogen, waste management and water recycling.
Further, the development tends to boost the electronics manufacturing and industrial infrastructure of the state and bring in investment and employment. The state government intends to draw upon Singapore's expertise in urban planning, infrastructure, and resource management in the development of the proposed industrial and business city.
CM Adityanath discussed the scale of electronics manufacturing in UP during the meeting. As the chief minister, "UP is the country's leading producer of electronics for mobile phones (55%) and electronic components (60%)." He also provided some figures about the state's rapid growth for electronics manufacturing, including increased investments from companies for future manufacturing plants.
Singapore Business Federation chairman Mark Lee and his delegation had earlier visited industrial areas in Noida and Greater Noida. The investors were impressed with the infrastructure facilities, business climate and investor-friendly policies of the state. They visited various upcoming and proposed projects of Film City, Toy Park, Apparel Park, Medical Devices Park and semiconductor cluster in Greater Noida and Yeida.
The delegation described them as aligned with international standards, and so another area to help more collaboration between Singaporean businesses and the state.
On Singapore's economic growth, Adityanath pointed out that the growth model of the country under its founder Lee Kuan Yew showed the significance of long term planning, good administration, and efficient use of resources. He said this partnership would combine Singapore's technological advantage with the industrial and infrastructure potential of Uttar Pradesh.
Singapore-Based Group Plans 775 Crore Manufacturing Investment
Beyond the Singapore City talks, the chief minister handed over an eligibility certificate to Greater Nashik Infracon Pvt Ltd, a part of the Singapore-based Universal Success Enterprises Group, for 50 acres of land in Sector 8D of YEIDA.
As part of its expansion plan, the company will set up a combined manufacturing plant called Universal Packaging Hub, with an investment of around 775 crore. The facility tends to create an estimated 1,880 direct jobs.
Singapore city and the packaging manufacturing plant, as announced today, are part of UP's attempts to make the region more investment-friendly by bringing in global investments. The YEIDA region which is said to have a heavy focus on electronics semiconductors, logistics, data centres and clean technologies should become even more important as an investment hub around Noida International Airport.
