Haryana CM Nayab Singh Distributes Property Certificates to 5,000 Traders

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh has distributed property certificates to 5,000 individuals in Manesar under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Swamitva Yojana. This initiative aims to resolve long-standing property disputes and grant ownership rights to traders who have been renting their premises for more than 20 years, marking a key step in the run-up to the state assembly elections.

Mukhyamantri Shahri Swamitva Yojana: An Overview

The Mukhyamantri Shahri Swamitva Yojana is designed to provide property rights to traders in urban areas who have faced uncertainty and legal disputes regarding their rented properties. Under this scheme, those who have been renting for over two decades can now obtain ownership at the collector rate, which is expected to bring stability and economic benefits to the beneficiaries.

Resolving Long-Standing Issues

At the state-level registry distribution and Urban Lal Dora Property Certificate distribution programme held in Manesar, CM Nayab Singh addressed the beneficiaries. He highlighted that many residents in urban areas had been suffering due to the Lal Dora problem, where properties did not have official ownership records, leading to numerous legal disputes and a climate of fear.

"People have been living in constant fear of losing their properties, unable to sell or mortgage them due to the lack of proper ownership documents," CM Singh stated. The Mukhyamantri Shahri Swamitva Yojana has now resolved this issue, providing a sense of security and economic empowerment to the affected traders.

Fulfilling Election Promises

Reflecting on the promises made during the 2019 elections, CM Singh emphasized that the government had committed to granting ownership rights to those renting properties in urban areas. "Today, we have fulfilled that promise, benefiting 5,000 individuals who now have ownership rights to their properties," he said.

Impact on Lal Dora Areas

The impact of this initiative is substantial, with around two lakh citizens across the state benefiting from the regularization of properties within Lal Dora areas. CM Singh assured the beneficiaries that they could no longer be removed from their properties. "You have now become the rightful owners of your properties. These are properties for which revenue officials previously did not have records of rights," he added.

This move comes just months before the Haryana state assembly elections, potentially boosting the ruling party's standing among urban traders and residents. By addressing a long-standing issue, the government aims to strengthen its support base and alleviate public concerns over property rights.

The Mukhyamantri Shahri Swamitva Yojana not only resolves property disputes but also empowers traders with the ability to leverage their newly acquired ownership for economic activities, such as securing loans or selling their properties if needed. This initiative is seen as a crucial step towards urban development and economic stability in Haryana.
