FONRWA Meets with CEO of Noida Authority to Demand Action on Civic Issues

In a recent meeting held on Tuesday, a delegation from the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association (FONRWA) met with Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M to address pressing civic issues affecting the city. In addition to the CEO, the meeting was attended by Deputy CEOs Sanjay Kumar Khatri and Vandana Tripathi, as well as Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) Mahendra Prasad, Satish Pal, and Devendra Pratap Singh. General Manager (Water) RP Singh and Deputy General Managers (DGMs) Vijay Rawal and SP Singh were also present, contributing to the discussions on various civic issues in Noida.

The meeting covered a wide range of concerns, including vendor zones, encroachment-free roads, the need for city bus services, parking problems, commercial activities in residential areas, policies on external repairs, and water supply issues.

FONRWA President Yogendra Sharma emphasized the urgent need for city bus services to improve connectivity between metro stations and residential, industrial, and other sectors of Noida. He pointed out that better public transport options would significantly enhance the quality of life for residents. Sharma also raised concerns about the establishment of vendor zones in residential sectors without consulting the residents or RWAs. He argued that the presence of these zones could lead to traffic congestion and security concerns. In response, CEO Lokesh M assured that no new hawkers would be added to the existing vendor zones and that illegal vendors and shopkeepers would be removed.

Residents have reported receiving dirty water and facing insufficient water supply in several sectors. FONRWA urged the CEO to increase the supply of Ganga water to improve both quality and quantity. CEO Lokesh M responded by saying that water supply from four Ranney wells had been initiated, which should help with water pressure and supply. He also mentioned that a filter would be installed on one of the tanks to ensure better water quality.

The issue of illegal encroachments by unauthorized shopkeepers, vendors, hawkers, and handcarts was also discussed. Jain urged the Authority to conduct regular checks to monitor and address these illegal activities. CEO Lokesh M instructed concerned officials to take strict action and run regular campaigns to curb encroachment.

Residents also highlighted the need for maintenance and repairs of flats built by the Noida Authority. Jain noted that frequent incidents of plaster collapse and grit wash on the walls of flats, stairs, and balconies posed a safety risk. He requested that the Authority undertake re-plastering and repairs of these structures. CEO Lokesh M acknowledged these concerns and asked the RWAs to submit a written petition for further action.

Other issues discussed included clogged sewers, the operation of guest houses, offices, hostels, warehouses, and playschools in residential areas. The CEO assured that the Authority would look into these matters and take appropriate actions. The meeting concluded with the CEO urging the RWAs to submit a detailed written petition outlining all their concerns. He reiterated the Authority’s commitment to addressing the issues raised by the residents and improving the overall civic infrastructure in Noida.
