DDA Launches Phase 2 of Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme 2024 with Over 2,500 Affordable Flats
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to launch Phase 2 of its highly anticipated Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme 2024, addressing the pressing need for affordable housing in the capital. Starting on November 14, 2024, the scheme will offer over 2,500 newly constructed flats in various prime locations across Delhi, including Rohini, Dwarka, Mangolpuri, Ramgarh, Loknayakpuram, Sirsapur, and Narela. This initiative aims to provide quality housing options to diverse segments of the population, ensuring that homeownership is more attainable for a broad demographic.
The cost of flats in this phase begins at an affordable Rs 11.5 lakh, making it one of the most accessible housing initiatives in recent times. The scheme caters to a wide range of buyers by offering flats in different categories. For example, more than 250 Low-Income Group (LIG) flats will be available in Rohini Sector 34 and 35, priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 15.5 lakh. Additionally, 180 flats under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category will be located in Mangolpuri, with prices ranging from Rs 32 lakh to Rs 35 lakh. A substantial number of EWS flats, approximately 1,800 units, will also be available in Narela’s Sector A1-A4, encompassing Pockets 1A, 1B, and 1C, priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. The DDA’s diverse offerings ensure that potential buyers from different income brackets can find properties that suit their needs.
All flats in this phase are ready to move in, which is an attractive feature for buyers looking for immediate accommodation. This aligns with the DDA’s mission to facilitate homeownership in Delhi and provide residents with the opportunity to invest in their future. Interested buyers are encouraged to register on the DDA’s official website before the booking phase begins on November 14. The booking process will follow a first-come, first-served basis, adding urgency to the registration and application procedure. To aid decision-making, the DDA also encourages potential homeowners to visit the flats to get a firsthand experience of the properties before making a purchase.
Phase 2 builds on the success of the initial phase of the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme, which was launched in August 2024. Phase 1 saw a strong response, with a total of 9,000 flats offered across three different schemes: Sasta Ghar, Madhyama Vargiya, and the Dwarka Housing Scheme. These flats were located in various areas, including Jasola, Narela, Rohini, Loknayakpuram, Ramgarh, and Siraspur. By the end of September 2024, approximately 1,650 units had been sold, showcasing the high demand for affordable and well-located residential properties in Delhi.
The DDA aims to replicate and build upon this success with the introduction of Phase 2, which includes an additional 2,500 units. This move seeks to meet the growing demand for affordable housing that strikes a balance between quality and budget-friendly pricing. The flats in this phase are strategically situated to ensure connectivity to essential services and infrastructure, promoting a comfortable living environment for families. By including localities like Dwarka, Rohini, and Narela, the DDA emphasizes its commitment to providing diverse housing options that cater to the needs of different segments of society.
The Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme is part of a broader effort by the DDA to tackle the persistent challenge of housing shortages in Delhi. High property prices and limited affordable housing options have made it difficult for many residents to achieve homeownership. Initiatives like this one are crucial in bridging the gap, providing economically viable solutions that serve lower and middle-income groups. The initiative reflects the DDA’s ongoing mission to ensure that all residents, regardless of income level, have the opportunity to own a home in the capital.
As the demand for residential properties continues to grow, the introduction of Phase 2 is a timely step forward in addressing the housing crisis. The affordability of the flats, combined with their readiness for immediate occupancy, makes this phase particularly appealing. The DDA’s approach includes ready-to-move-in options, providing immediate relief to prospective homeowners who might otherwise face long waiting periods for property possession. This strategic move benefits buyers while also supporting the government’s broader aims of promoting housing stability and urban development in Delhi.
