Bollywood Actor Kajol Acquires ₹28.78 Crore Retail Space in in Goregaon West, Mumbai

Bollywood actor Kajol Devgan has purchased a commercial retail space in Mumbai’s Goregaon West for approximately Rs 28.78 crore. The property, located in Linking Road, Bangur Nagar, was acquired from Bharat Realty Ventures Pvt Ltd. It spans 4,365 sq ft and comes with five designated car parking spaces. According to documents accessed by IndexTaps, the transaction was registered on March 6, 2025, with a stamp duty payment of Rs 1.72 crore. The price per square foot for the retail space is estimated at Rs 65,940.

This purchase adds to Kajol’s growing real estate portfolio. In 2023, she invested in an office space in Andheri West for Rs 7.64 crore. The office, located in the Signature Building on Veera Desai Road, covered a RERA carpet area of 194.67 sq m. That same year, she also acquired an apartment in Mumbai for Rs 16.50 crore from Bharat Realty Ventures Pvt Ltd. These transactions indicate a strategic investment approach, diversifying her assets across commercial and residential properties.

Kajol’s husband, Ajay Devgn, has also been involved in real estate transactions. Earlier in March 2025, he leased out a commercial office space of 3,455 sq ft in Mumbai for a monthly rent of Rs 7 lakh. Additionally, he renewed a lease agreement for two commercial units totaling 1,500 sq ft in Andheri for Rs 4.16 lakh per month. His real estate activities reflect a preference for commercial leasing, generating steady rental income.

Several Bollywood celebrities have shown a growing interest in commercial real estate. Unlike residential properties, commercial spaces offer higher rental yields and long-term investment potential. Areas such as Bandra, Khar, Lokhandwala, and Worli have become prime locations for such investments due to their business viability and property appreciation rates.
