Bengaluru Airport City Ltd (BACL), a subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), has announced a strategic partnership with real estate major Prestige Group to develop a state-of-the-art Convention and Exhibition Centre within the airport city zone near Kempegowda International Airport.

The facility, which will accommodate up to 8,000 attendees, is designed to host a wide range of large-scale international and domestic events, including business summits, trade expos, innovation forums, and cultural showcases. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing Bengaluru’s capabilities in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector, which continues to witness robust growth across Asia.

Rao Munukutla, Executive Director and CEO of BACL, noted that the partnership with Prestige Group aligns with the company's vision to build world-class social infrastructure in the region. He added that the convention centre is intended to contribute meaningfully to the regional economy and reinforce India’s positioning in the global MICE ecosystem.

The development will be part of a broader mixed-use precinct within the airport city masterplan. In addition to the convention and exhibition centre, the plans feature a luxury hotel under the St. Regis brand — a globally recognised hospitality name within the Marriott International portfolio. The project will also include Grade A office spaces, a performing arts theatre, and a curated collection of food and beverage outlets, all designed to be interconnected through seamless transit and urban planning systems.

According to Irfan Razack, Chairman and Managing Director of Prestige Group, the project underscores the company's long-standing association with Bengaluru’s growth and international aspirations. He stated that the development, anchored by a premium hotel and a major convention centre, represents a landmark addition to the city’s evolving infrastructure.

Located adjacent to Bengaluru’s international aviation gateway, the Bengaluru Airport City initiative is envisioned as a transformative urban node that integrates infrastructure, sustainability, technology, and lifestyle. The project is expected to offer a holistic live-work-play ecosystem, benefiting from increasing passenger and commercial activity around the airport.

With growing investor interest in the region, the partnership between BACL and Prestige Group is expected to catalyse further development in the surrounding area. The convention centre is likely to drive demand in sectors such as hospitality, real estate, retail, and urban services.

The initiative also reflects a strong collaboration between public and private entities working toward building globally benchmarked infrastructure that supports Bengaluru’s evolving role as a major business, technology, and cultural hub in southern India.
