During a landmark event in Mumbai today, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, along with Rizwan Sajan, Founder and Chairman of the Dubai-based Danube Group, unveiled the Shahrukhz tower—the first-ever property to be named after him. SRK is globally the first actor to have a property tower named after him, making the event at a luxury hotel a historic moment.
The celebration was a dazzling spectacle with a plethora of well-known people attending, among them director Farah Khan, and it was an exhibition not only of the next-generation design of the project but also of the magnetism of Shah Rukh Khan and his communion with the fans.
Curiously the launch was in India and not in Dubai, as SRK had a personal preference for the event to be in his home country. SRK said, "I really wanted the event to take place here, as I come from here. Wanting to make their lives better. As and when this project begins to roll, I hope people find their lives growing beautifully and exponentially, as they should."
He also commented on the honor being close to his heart and recalled how proud his late mom would have been to witness such a turning point in his career: "My mother would be very happy. It is a very big honour. When my kids come, I will say, 'Papa ka naam likha hai, dekho.' I have seen all the details of this building for the past two months. It is state-of-the-art and affordable. For people who are starting off in Dubai, it will be a moment and an inspiration to make their lives."
The superstar did not just confine his presence to formal speeches. He came along with the crowd with his trademark charm and vigor, he was seen doing his famous open-arm gesture, imitating his popular "Don" walk and delivering the famous dialogues of Om Shanti Om.
At the launch event in Mumbai, which was geared towards generating interest among Indian buyers for the new tower, Adel Sajan, group managing director at Danube Properties, said that the company is aiming to complete the project by the second quarter of 2029.
“The agreement we have with Shah Rukh is that this particular tower is going to have Shah Rukh’s name lifelong. This is something that’s being done for the first time. It’s going to be Shah Rukh’s tower for many generations to come. Nobody else, at least in Dubai, can have that kind of tower in the near future,” Sajan said.
