India’s office market continues to expand at record pace; Grade-A office leasing crossed 70 million sq. ft in 2024, while the demand for managed and flexible workspaces grew 57% year-on-year. With organisations now prioritising ESG-aligned workplaces, human-centric design, AI-enabled facility automation, and health-focused interiors, ORGATEC India arrives at a decisive moment for the country’s workspace transformation journey.
Dr. Mala Singh, Chairperson, Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) - Mumbai Chapter, said “India’s workspace and commercial real estate market is set for rapid expansion as the economy pushes toward a five trillion milestone. By 2030, the commercial stock is expected to nearly double, driven by strong demand and India’s status as a global opportunity hub. The future of work will be defined by climate-resilient, green buildings that prioritize productivity, health, and happiness, while delivering on India’s net-zero 2070 commitments.”
Dr. Mala Singh further said, “ESG is central to this transformation; SEBI’s BRSR mandate has already accelerated transparent sustainability reporting among leading corporates. Design and operations must work together to decarbonize workplaces, improve indoor environmental quality and build resilience at scale.” She was speaking at the first edition of ORGATEC India 2025.

Speaking at the event Mr Ajay Bhatt, CRISP Contributor & Group Head - Corporate Services, Godrej Industries Group, said “After a brief pandemic pause, India’s office market has rebounded and is outpacing pre-COVID momentum. The future hinges on people, technology, sustainability and employee services must blend to help teams do their best work. We target an indoor AQI below 10, because air quality measurably improves focus and happiness. Sustainability is a boardroom issue and it does come at a cost, but we are committed to 100% renewable energy, net-zero wastes to landfill and IGBC certifications across offices. Hybrid will stay, but with a stronger in-person rhythm to restore collaboration and velocity.”
