Former Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan Purchases Ultra-Luxury Flat in DLF’s The Dahlias for ₹69 Crore
Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has bought an ultra-luxury apartment in DLF’s premium residential project, The Dahlias, located in Sector 54, Golf Course Road, Gurugram. The transaction, valued at nearly ₹69 crore, stands out as one of the most expensive residential deals in Delhi-NCR. Dhawan, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in August 2024, joins a growing list of India’s affluent investing in high-end real estate.
According to documents accessed by CRE Matrix, a leading real estate analytics firm, the total cost of the apartment is ₹68.89 crore, which includes a base price of ₹65.61 crore and a stamp duty payment of ₹3.24 crore. Dhawan’s acquisition puts the per square foot rate at approximately ₹1.08 lakh, underscoring the premium nature of the property. The flat spans 6,040 square feet and comes with five car parking spots, offering both scale and exclusivity in one of the most coveted residential corridors in the country.
The Dahlias is DLF’s latest ultra-premium offering, developed by DLF’s Home Developers Ltd. Earlier this year, the developer announced that it had sold 173 ultra-luxury apartments in the project, generating a staggering ₹11,816 crore in sales within just nine weeks of launch. The overwhelming response is attributed to significant interest from ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs), top corporate executives, and non-resident Indians (NRIs) looking for legacy real estate assets in India.
Each residence in The Dahlias is designed as a bare-shell unit, allowing buyers the freedom to customize interiors as per their individual preferences. The apartments are housed across eight towers and 29 levels, with only 420 units in total, including 15 exclusive duplex penthouses. These penthouses span over 19,000 square feet each and have reportedly sold for as much as ₹150 crore per unit. The Dahlias project, expected to be completed in four years, will offer expansive outdoor decks, 4-meter high floor-to-ceiling dimensions, and seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, redefining luxury living in the region.
The residential towers are situated within the DLF5 Golf Links community and will overlook a proposed Lake Park, further enhancing the aesthetic and recreational appeal of the development. The project covers 7.5 million square feet and promises an unprecedented lifestyle for India’s wealthy homebuyers. Prices for these luxury residences reportedly range between ₹55 crore and ₹125 crore, positioning The Dahlias as a new benchmark in India’s luxury residential market.
Dhawan’s purchase adds to his portfolio of premium properties. According to media reports, he also owns a home in Australia, which he reportedly bought in 2015 for $730,000, and a luxurious residence in Delhi valued at over ₹5 crore. Known for his flamboyant batting style and cheerful persona, now joins the growing list of celebrities investing in high-end Indian real estate projects.
