Brigade Group Announces Development of World Trade Center in Thiruvananthapuram
Brigade Enterprises Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Technopark to develop a World Trade Center (WTC) and supporting infrastructure, including a business hotel, in Thiruvananthapuram. This project will encompass 1.5 million square feet of built-up area, distributed across multiple towers, and will cater to multinational IT companies by offering Grade A office spaces. Additionally, it is expected to generate employment opportunities for over 10,000 individuals, both directly and indirectly, further boosting the region’s economic activity.
The Thiruvananthapuram WTC will be Brigade’s second such initiative in Kerala. The first World Trade Center in Kochi, located within the Infopark campus, has been a notable success. It already boasts over one million square feet of IT infrastructure and is currently undergoing expansion with the construction of a third tower. This success story has served as an inspiration for the company’s decision to bring a similar landmark development to the state capital. Overall, Brigade has committed to investing approximately ₹1,500 crores in Kerala over the coming years, reflecting its long-term confidence in the state’s growth potential.
The MoU for the Thiruvananthapuram project was signed by Hrishikesh Nair, COO of Brigade Enterprises Limited, and Col. Sanjeev Nair, CEO of Technopark. A copy of the agreement was handed over by M.R. Jaishankar, Executive Chairman of Brigade Enterprises Limited, to Kerala’s Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan. The event also saw the presence of key state officials, including Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan, IT Secretary Ratan Kelkar, and senior executives from Brigade, such as Vineet Verma, MD of WTC, and Nirupa Shankar, Joint Managing Director of Brigade Enterprises Limited.
Speaking about the project, M.R. Jaishankar expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture. "Encouraged by the success of WTC Kochi, we are happy to bring Kerala’s second WTC to Thiruvananthapuram. With plans to develop approximately 1.5 million square feet of premium office space, including a business-class hotel, this project is set to become an international landmark for the city. At Brigade, we strive to provide world-class experiences to our clients, and WTC Thiruvananthapuram is another step in that direction," he said.
Brigade Enterprises Limited has built a strong reputation over its 34 years of operation in the real estate sector. Known for delivering premium projects, the company has successfully contributed to Kerala’s real estate landscape through landmark developments such as WTC Kochi and the Four Points by Sheraton hotel. The expansion of WTC Kochi and the launch of the new project in Thiruvananthapuram reinforce Brigade’s commitment to bringing top-notch infrastructure to the state.
Currently, Brigade Group has a pipeline of approximately 12.61 million square feet of new residential developments spread across Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. These projects are aimed at addressing the growing need for housing and commercial spaces in South India’s urban centers. The company’s expansion strategy is aligned with the increasing urbanization and economic activity in these cities, which are driving demand for real estate across different segments.
The development of the World Trade Center in Thiruvananthapuram is a significant addition to Brigade’s portfolio. It reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to the growth of business infrastructure in key locations. By providing state-of-the-art facilities, the project is expected to attract multinational companies and create a favorable environment for business growth in Kerala. Along with generating employment opportunities, the project is likely to enhance Thiruvananthapuram’s position as an emerging business destination.
