Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal has registered a luxury apartment at DLF’s The Camellias in Gurugram, which he originally purchased in August 2022 for ₹52.3 crore from the real estate developer DLF. Official registration documents accessed through property data platform Zapkey show that the conveyance deed for the property was executed on March 17, 2025.

The apartment, located in Gurugram’s DLF Phase-5, spans 10,813 square feet and comes with five car parking slots. Stamp duty of ₹3.66 crore was paid during the property registration process.

Goyal’s acquisition is part of a growing trend among successful entrepreneurs and corporate leaders moving to DLF Camellias, a project known for its large-format residential units. The Camellias was launched by DLF in 2014 as a premium residential development, initially priced at ₹22,500 per sq. ft. Over time, prices have escalated significantly, with brokers estimating that apartments of similar size today would cost more than ₹140 crore.

This registration comes amid a series of high-value transactions reported at The Camellias over the past year. In December 2024, Rishi Parti, founder and CEO of Gurugram-based Info-X Software Technology, purchased a penthouse in the same development for ₹190 crore. Earlier, in February 2024, a 10,000 sq. ft. apartment in The Camellias was sold to Smiti Agarwal, wife of Hemant Agarwal of V Bazaar Retail, for ₹95 crore. In another resale deal from October 2023, a slightly larger apartment measuring about 11,000 sq. ft. changed hands for ₹114 crore.

Goyal's property at The Camellias was bought directly from DLF and appears to be part of the earlier phase of bookings, which took place before the significant price surge in the resale market. While DLF had sold all apartments as bare-shell units, buyers often spend substantial sums on interiors, fit-outs, and customisations.

No comments were received from DLF or Deepinder Goyal regarding the transaction at the time of publishing. The copy will be updated if a response is provided.

This is not Goyal’s first real estate investment in the National Capital Region. In February 2024, he bought a land parcel in Mehrauli, South Delhi, for ₹50 crore. That acquisition also made headlines due to the location’s proximity to historic monuments and upscale neighbourhoods.

An IIT Delhi alumnus, Deepinder Goyal started his professional career at Bain & Company before co-founding Foodiebay in 2008. The venture later evolved into Zomato, which has since become one of India’s most prominent food-tech companies. Under Goyal’s leadership, Zomato expanded into multiple verticals including grocery delivery, hyperlocal services, and quick commerce.

The Camellias is situated across 17.5 acres and consists of over 400 units designed to accommodate high-net-worth individuals. It includes features such as private elevators, expansive terraces, energy-efficient infrastructure, and club facilities. While the apartments are delivered as unfinished units, many buyers undertake custom architectural and interior design work.

DLF Camellias’ consistent record of ultra-luxury transactions has established it as one of India’s most expensive residential projects. It has become a preferred choice for entrepreneurs, business families, and executives looking for secure, large-format residences with proximity to commercial zones like CyberHub, Golf Course Road, and GIFT City-linked offices.

With Deepinder Goyal now registering his unit, the project continues to attract prominent buyers even years after the initial sales were closed. The demand for similar properties is also prompting speculative interest in newer phases or adjacent high-value developments within the DLF portfolio.
