Rustomjee Group's Expansion Plans: Entering Data Centers and Plot Development Projects Near Mumbai

Rustomjee Group, one of the leading real estate developers is set to diversify its portfolio by venturing into the data centres segment and launching plotted development projects. Boman Irani, the chairman and managing director of Rustomjee Group, revealed the company's expansion strategy, emphasising its gradual shift into new verticals while maintaining its stronghold in the redevelopment space within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

The decision to enter the data centres segment underscores Rustomjee Group's forward-looking approach and readiness to explore emerging opportunities in the real estate market. With a focus on leveraging its existing land banks and development capabilities, the company aims to tap into the growing demand for data center infrastructure. Data centers play a critical role in storing and sharing applications and data, and with India witnessing a surge in data consumption, the demand for such facilities is expected to soar.

In addition to data centres, Rustomjee Group is gearing up to launch plotted development projects, starting with its first venture in Kasara Ghat near the hill station Igatpuri, a few hours' drive from Mumbai. This move reflects the company's strategy to cater to diverse segments within the real estate market, thereby expanding its market reach and enhancing its overall portfolio.

Funding Plans and Growth Outlook

To support its expansion initiatives, Rustomjee Group intends to raise funds through a qualified institutional placement (QIP) of equity shares.
