Genuine buyers of the Anthurium residential project in Sector-73 submitted a memorandum to the Noida Police Commissioner, urging the immediate arrest of those named in an FIR over an alleged fraud linked to the project's Apartment Owners Welfare Association (AOWA). They said swift police action is essential to protect homebuyers' interests, restore confidence among investors and facilitate the project's registration process.
The FIR names Kalpana Sachan, Shashank Kumar, Neerja Singhal, Parul Jain, Divya Gautam, Sahil Rana, Neeraj Kumar Singhal, Ravindra Kumar Banwaria and Mohammad Mahmududdin Hussain. While the police are investigating the case, the delegation expressed concern that none of the accused named in the FIR has been arrested so far, saying the delay has created a sense of insecurity among genuine buyers.
The buyers claimed the accused have been operating under the banner of "Anthurium AOWA," despite the association having been dissolved earlier by the Deputy Registrar. They further alleged that forged documents and fabricated signatures of deceased individuals were used to project the defunct body as a legitimate association, misleading homebuyers and damaging the project's credibility. The delegation said the alleged actions have also jeopardised the rights and investments of genuine purchasers.
The delegation maintained that the alleged fraud has delayed the registration process, triggered legal complications and adversely affected genuine allottees. It further claimed that activities carried out in the name of the disputed association have disrupted the project's normal functioning.
Leading the delegation, Trilok Singh, along with dozens of other buyers, urged the police to immediately arrest all those named in the FIR. They also sought a comprehensive forensic examination of financial transactions and bank accounts allegedly operated in the name of the dissolved association, including accounts they claimed were created fraudulently.
Calling for immediate intervention, the delegation said timely action would reinforce investor confidence and uphold the rule of law. It added that any further delay would send the wrong message and warned that genuine buyers would be compelled to launch a peaceful protest to safeguard their rights if prompt action is not taken.
