Ramky Infrastructure Secures Rs. 215 Crore Deal for 20 Sewage Treatment Plants in Hyderabad
Ramky Infrastructure Limited, one of India’s leading integrated sustainable infrastructure development companies, has secured a contract worth Rs. 215 crores from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). This contract adds to the company's ongoing work in urban infrastructure and highlights its role in supporting India’s growing cities.
The contract involves providing Manning, Operation, and Maintenance (O&M) services for five years for twenty Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in the HMWSSB jurisdiction. The combined capacity of these plants is 714.3 Million Liters per Day (MLD), and they are located in areas such as Amberpet, Nallacheruvu, Pedda Cheruvu, and other designated sites. The scope of the contract also includes managing associated Intercept and Diversion (I&D) systems, which are necessary for efficient sewage management and preventing untreated sewage from being released into the environment.
Mr. Yancharla Rathnakara Nagaraja, Managing Director of Ramky Infrastructure Limited, commented on the contract, saying, “We are honored to have been entrusted with this critical contract by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. This project aligns with our vision of creating sustainable urban infrastructure that meets the growing demands of India’s cities. It is a testament to our ongoing efforts to transform urban spaces with cutting-edge environmental solutions.”
Ramky Infrastructure has significant experience in wastewater treatment. The company has implemented STPs at several locations, including Kokapet, Miralam, and Nagole. These plants play an important role in treating sewage from surrounding areas and preventing untreated wastewater from entering the Musi River. The company uses technologies like Sequential Batch Reactors (SBR) in its plants. These systems are efficient, require less manpower, and use automated control systems like PLC and SCADA to improve performance.
In addition to its technological expertise, Ramky Infrastructure is known for completing projects on time. For example, the company delivered previous STP projects in 16 months, well ahead of the original 24-month timeline. This ability to complete projects ahead of schedule highlights the company’s efficiency and experience in managing complex infrastructure projects.
The new contract with HMWSSB is an important step in Ramky Infrastructure’s ongoing work in urban water management. The company’s ability to manage large-scale projects and deliver them efficiently is central to its reputation in the infrastructure sector. By focusing on technologies that improve efficiency and reducing the time required for project completion, Ramky Infrastructure continues to address the challenges of urban infrastructure in India.
This new contract for STP management in Hyderabad adds to the company’s portfolio of successful projects. Ramky Infrastructure has shown that it can handle large and complex projects, contributing to the development of essential urban infrastructure that supports the needs of growing cities.
