Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has made his first foray into land ownership by acquiring a 2,000 sq. ft. plot in Alibaug for ₹2 crore. The property is part of Chateau de Alibaug, a coastal development managed by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL). This investment adds to the actor’s growing real estate portfolio and positions him alongside established investors in the area, including Amitabh Bachchan and Kriti Sanon.
The Alibaug acquisition marks Aaryan’s initial entry into land investment. According to sources, the actor intends to build his own residence on the plot. Alibaug has been a popular destination for celebrities and high-net-worth individuals seeking second homes, owing to its proximity to Mumbai and scenic coastal environment. The location offers a combination of privacy, luxury, and convenience, with travel times from Mumbai ranging between two hours via road and 20–30 minutes from Mandwa Jetty. The completion of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) has further enhanced connectivity, making the area more accessible for daily commuters and second-home investors.
Chateau de Alibaug, HoABL’s flagship development, is structured to provide a coastal lifestyle experience with amenities such as a reflexology track, a multipurpose hall, a rooftop garden, a pool deck, a lounge area, and two expansive clubhouses. The development includes Garden Châteaux, which feature private gardens and pools, and Terrace Châteaux, offering rooftop pools alongside living spaces and bedrooms. Aaryan’s investment aligns with a growing trend of Bollywood celebrities entering Alibaug’s real estate market. In 2024, Amitabh Bachchan purchased a 10,000 sq. ft. plot in Alibaug for ₹10 crore, while Kriti Sanon also acquired a 2,000 sq. ft. plot at Sol de Alibaug, another HoABL project. The company has emphasized that such transactions demonstrate Alibaug’s increasing appeal as a location for luxurious second homes, attracting investors from the entertainment, corporate, and entrepreneurial sectors.
Prior to this land acquisition, Kartik Aaryan had engaged in residential property transactions in Mumbai. In 2023, he purchased an apartment for ₹17.5 crore, and in 2024, he rented out a 1,912 sq. ft. apartment in Juhu for ₹4.5 lakh per month. These prior investments indicate a strategy of diversifying his real estate holdings across high-value urban and coastal properties.
HoABL officials highlighted that Alibaug’s real estate market offers strong long-term growth potential due to limited land availability, rising demand from premium buyers, and infrastructural developments improving connectivity. The company’s premium projects in destinations such as Ayodhya, Vrindavan, and Goa have also attracted interest from celebrities, sports personalities, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives, reinforcing the appeal of HoABL developments.
Kartik Aaryan’s investment is expected to complement the existing portfolio of high-net-worth residents in Alibaug, enhancing the area’s profile as a preferred location for luxury second homes.
