MHADA Konkan Board Lottery Application Deadline Extended to December 24
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has extended the deadline for applications to its Konkan Housing Board lottery, providing more time for individuals interested in securing one of the 2,264 available flats. Originally set for an earlier date, the deadline has now been pushed to 11:59 PM on December 24, 2024. This extension is aimed at ensuring that all potential applicants have sufficient time to complete their applications and submit the necessary documents for the lottery.

- 728 scattered flats under the Konkan Board Housing Scheme.
- 117 plots available in Roha-Raigad and Oras-Sindhudurg.
The Role of the State Assembly Elections
The promotional campaign for the lottery faced delays due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct during the State Assembly elections. As a result, the campaign was pushed back, limiting the time available for outreach efforts before the original application deadline. However, since the conclusion of the elections, MHADA has ramped up its promotional efforts. More than 6,000 applicants have already visited the information stalls set up for the lottery, and 301 applicants have made payments for their selected flats.
This extended deadline presents an opportunity for those who may have missed the original deadline or those who are still in the process of considering their options. With more time to apply, prospective buyers are encouraged to complete their applications promptly to avoid missing out on the chance to own a flat under the Konkan Housing Board lottery.
Why This Lottery Matters?
The MHADA Konkan Housing Board lottery is an important initiative for affordable housing in the region. It offers residents of Mumbai and surrounding areas the opportunity to own a home in a relatively affordable manner, which is increasingly crucial in a city where the real estate market is often out of reach for many individuals. The inclusion of various schemes in this lottery further makes it accessible to a wider demographic, catering to different needs and budgets.
This move to extend the deadline is expected to benefit many who may have encountered barriers in applying due to time constraints, helping to ensure that no potential applicant is excluded from the process due to the earlier timeline. By providing more time, MHADA is also encouraging a wider participation in the lottery, which in turn will help promote transparency and fairness in the selection process.
