Actor Kriti Sanon has entered Mumbai’s luxury housing market with the purchase of a high-value residential property in Bandra. Property registration records show that Sanon acquired a duplex penthouse worth ₹78.2 crore in Pali Hill, one of the city’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.
The penthouse, located in the luxury project Supreme Prana, spans 7,302 sq ft across the 14th and 15th floors of the tower. The transaction includes six car parking spaces, adding to the property’s appeal in a locality known for its limited parking availability. At a per sq ft rate of about ₹1.18 lakh, the deal is among the most expensive residential purchases in the suburban market this year.
As part of the transaction, Sanon paid ₹3.91 crore in stamp duty and a ₹30,000 registration fee. Being a woman buyer, she availed a 1% concession on stamp duty, a benefit introduced to encourage women’s participation in property ownership in Maharashtra.
This is not Sanon’s first investment in real estate. In July 2024, she bought a 2,000 sq ft land parcel in Alibaug for over ₹2 crore. The plot, part of a premium project developed by The House of Abhinandan Lodha, offers green views and has attracted several celebrity buyers. Earlier this year, actor Amitabh Bachchan also purchased a plot in the same development.
Pali Hill, where the new penthouse is located, continues to remain a hub for celebrity housing. The neighbourhood has long been associated with Bollywood actors, cricketers, and industrialists. Among its notable residents are Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Imran Khan. Shah Rukh Khan is currently residing in a rented property in the area while his residence, Mannat, undergoes renovation. The late Dilip Kumar’s bungalow in the vicinity is under redevelopment.
Industry analysts point out that despite high costs, luxury real estate in prime Bandra continues to draw demand due to limited supply and prestige associated with the address. For developers, such celebrity purchases also serve as endorsements of the location’s value.
