Actor Shweta Tripathi has purchased a residential apartment in Chembur, Mumbai, for a reported amount of ₹3 crore. The property, registered on July 2, 2025, is located in Supreme Boulevard, a project developed by Mumbai-based real estate developer Supreme Universal. As per property registration records accessed through CRE Matrix, the apartment has a carpet area of 938 square feet and is situated on the ninth floor of the residential tower.

Along with the apartment, the transaction includes two designated car parking spaces. The price per square foot in this transaction works out to ₹32,000, placing it within the higher range of property prices in the Chembur locality.

The deal attracted attention due to the identity of the buyer and the timing of the purchase amid ongoing activity in Mumbai’s eastern suburbs real estate market. The stamp duty paid on the transaction amounted to ₹15 lakh, with an additional ₹30,000 paid as registration fees. The documentation further revealed that Shweta Tripathi availed the stamp duty concession offered by the Maharashtra government for women homebuyers. Under this policy, women are eligible for a reduction of 2% in stamp duty when registering property solely in their name. This makes the applicable rate 4% instead of the usual 6%, thereby encouraging independent property ownership among women.

The building in which the apartment is located is part of a larger residential cluster under development in Chembur, an area that has seen increased developer interest over the last few years. Chembur’s transformation from a traditional suburb to a hub of new mid- to premium-range projects has been led in part by high-value land acquisitions by large developers, including the widely publicized purchase of Raj Kapoor Studio and bungalow by Godrej Properties. Such purchases highlight the continued confidence of high-net-worth individuals in Mumbai’s residential market, despite cyclical variations in demand. These transactions are also often viewed as a blend of lifestyle-driven decision-making and long-term asset diversification.

The Chembur real estate market has remained active over the past four quarters, with demand primarily driven by end-users. According to real estate analysts, the locality benefits from its connectivity to the Eastern Freeway, Sion-Trombay Road, and Monorail corridors, which link it to Mumbai’s central and southern business districts. Social infrastructure including schools, hospitals, and recreational facilities has also contributed to residential demand in the area.

Additionally, the presence of ongoing redevelopment projects has added new supply to the market, offering both compact and spacious configurations to a broad customer base.
