IWG to Launch Premium Brand Signature in India, Plans Expansion into Tier II and III Cities

UK-based flexible workspace provider International Workplaces Group (IWG) is set to introduce its high-end brand ‘Signature’ in India over the next couple of years. The company, which already operates brands like Regus, Spaces, and HQ in the country, is looking to expand its network significantly through new centre openings and strategic acquisitions.

Marc Descrozaille, CEO for Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific at IWG, confirmed that Signature will be launched in India in response to increasing demand for specialised services in the premium segment of office space. He said the move aligns with the group's broader global strategy and its strong growth momentum in India.

The planned Signature centres will offer what the company describes as a "hotelification" experience—featuring services such as concierge support, client insurance policies, and upgraded onboarding and registration systems. While details on specific launch cities are yet to be announced, the brand will be part of IWG's larger push into emerging Indian markets.

IWG is aiming to establish 40 to 50 new centres across India by the end of 2025. The focus will not only remain on large metros but will expand to cities such as Surat, Patiala, Vijayawada, Salem, Calicut, and Thiruvananthapuram. These Tier II and Tier III locations are part of a strategy to serve growing demand from businesses beyond major urban hubs.

Currently, IWG operates more than 100 centres in India. According to the company, it plans to quadruple this number within the next three to five years. In Bengaluru alone, IWG has 13 operational centres and plans to add 18 more during 2025. An additional 20 locations are expected to open in the first quarter of 2026.

“We’ve been open to discussions in the past, and we remain open to them as a way to accelerate our growth,” Descrozaille said. He also mentioned that the company is exploring acquisition opportunities that could help fast-track this expansion.

India ranks among IWG’s fastest-growing markets globally. With demand increasing from both mid-sized businesses and large corporates, the company is adapting its offerings to suit a range of customer segments. Signature is intended to meet the requirements of clients seeking specialised and high-service-level environments.

IWG competes with other coworking players in India such as WeWork, Awfis, and Smartworks. The company serves around 8 million members globally, including a large share of Fortune 500 companies.

Rental growth is also a factor. Harsh Lambah, Vice President – Sales for South Asia at IWG, noted that office rentals in Bengaluru have been growing at an annual rate of 5–10%, and the company expects this trend to continue in the short term.

Globally, IWG’s portfolio includes approximately 4,000 locations across more than 120 countries. The U.S. leads in terms of overall presence, while Japan tops the list in the Asia-Pacific region.
