Bollywood Actor Sunil Shetty and Son Ahan Purchase Property in Mumbai’s Bandra Area Through Bank Auction for ₹8.01 Crore
Mumbai’s real estate market has always been a hotspot for celebrity investments, particularly in upscale neighborhoods like Bandra, which attract affluent buyers with premium amenities and strategic connectivity. Adding to this trend, Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty, along with his son Ahan Shetty, recently acquired a property worth ₹8.01 crore in the Bandra area through a bank auction. This latest investment highlights the ongoing interest of Bollywood stars in Mumbai’s prime real estate market, especially in high-demand areas offering both luxury and convenience.
The acquisition was made through a bank auction, highlighting a less common but strategic approach to high-profile property investments. Covering a total area of 1,200 square feet, the property is located in the desirable Khar West neighborhood, which is well-known for its high-end amenities and close proximity to major commercial and entertainment hubs. The transaction included additional fees, with ₹40.08 lakh paid in stamp duty and ₹30,000 in registration charges, according to documents accessed by real estate platform Square Yards.
The Bandra area, where the property is situated, continues to be a prime choice for celebrity and luxury property buyers. It offers close access to the Bandra-Kurla Complex, as well as other commercial centers like Worli and Andheri, making it ideal for individuals seeking both luxury and convenience. The area’s infrastructure and its connectivity to key areas, including the international airport, add to its appeal. In recent months, prominent figures like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, KL Rahul, and Athiya Shetty have also acquired properties in this sought-after locality, underlining a growing trend of investment in Bandra among high-profile individuals.
The Shettys are not alone in their enthusiasm for Mumbai real estate. Earlier this week, Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan garnered attention for their purchase of 10 apartments in Oberoi Realty's project, Oberoi Eternia, located in Mulund.
Mumbai’s real estate market has long held appeal for Bollywood celebrities, with many seeing it as a blend of lifestyle enhancement and investment opportunity. This interest is largely driven by high rental yields on commercial properties and the appreciation potential of premium residential assets in the city. Over the years, stars from different generations, such as Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, have contributed to this trend by securing luxury homes in the financial capital. This continuous stream of Bollywood investments reflects the allure of Mumbai’s real estate market, which consistently delivers not only in terms of prestige but also in terms of financial gains.
The trend of Bollywood stars acquiring properties in Mumbai’s upscale neighborhoods shows no signs of slowing down, with each transaction further enhancing the city's reputation as a prime real estate destination for high-profile buyers.
