Bollywood Actor Jaideep Ahlawat Purchases Luxury Apartment in Mumbai for ₹10 Crore
Bollywood actor Jaideep Ahlawat, known for his notable roles in films like Raees (2017) and Raazi (2018), along with his wife Jyoti Hooda, has acquired a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s Andheri West for ₹10 crore. The purchase was confirmed through property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards, with the transaction officially registered on May 22, 2025.
The apartment is located in Poorna Apartments, a residential building situated in one of Mumbai’s prominent suburban localities. According to official records, the property includes a carpet area of 1,950 square feet and a built-up area of 2,341 square feet. In addition to the residential space, the deal includes four designated parking spots, a valuable feature in Mumbai’s congested urban environment.
The total transaction cost reflects not only the value of the property but also additional statutory payments. The documents indicate a stamp duty payment of ₹60 lakh and registration charges of ₹30,000. These charges are standard in real estate transactions in Mumbai and contribute to the overall expense borne by the buyer.
Andheri West is a strategically located suburb that has developed rapidly over the last two decades. Positioned between Mumbai’s key business districts and entertainment hubs, it has become a preferred location for both residential and commercial investments. The area hosts a mix of modern office spaces, entertainment venues, shopping centers, and upscale residential complexes.
The region’s appeal lies in its connectivity and infrastructure. It is well connected by local trains, metro lines, and major roads, facilitating easy access to South Mumbai, the airport, and other parts of the city. The presence of reputed educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and recreational options further adds to its attractiveness for residents.
Given the blend of commercial and lifestyle amenities, Andheri West has seen an influx of professionals, celebrities, and corporate executives opting to reside there. This trend has supported sustained growth in property values and rental yields.
Jaideep Ahlawat’s purchase is part of a broader pattern of Bollywood celebrities investing in Mumbai real estate. In April 2025, playback singer Alka Yagnik and her daughter, Syesha Kapoor, bought a luxury apartment in Oberoi Sky Heights, Andheri West, for ₹11.5 crore. Their unit measures 2,297 square feet and was registered on April 15. The price paid translated to roughly ₹50,071 per square foot, highlighting the premium value of properties in this area.
Similarly, Bollywood composer and singer Anu Malik and his wife Anju Malik have been involved in recent real estate transactions, having sold two apartments in Mumbai’s Santacruz West area for ₹14.49 crore. These sales demonstrate the active role that entertainment industry figures play in Mumbai’s property market.
Last year, Amitabh Bachchan acquired three commercial properties spanning a total carpet area of 8,429 square feet for nearly ₹60 crore in Andheri West. Such investments underline the attractiveness of Mumbai’s suburban zones for both residential and commercial real estate by prominent individuals.
Mumbai’s real estate market continues to be one of the most expensive and competitive in India. The demand for premium properties, particularly in well-connected suburban areas like Andheri West, remains strong. Buyers are attracted by the location’s connectivity, infrastructure, and lifestyle options, which support both personal living and potential rental income.
In addition, celebrity ownership often adds a layer of prestige to residential developments, sometimes influencing market dynamics and pricing. While the city faces challenges such as limited land availability and regulatory complexities, the real estate sector remains resilient, supported by steady demand from high-net-worth individuals and investors.
