Vadodara Municipal Corporation Announces Property Tax Rebates Until May 23

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has initiated a rebate scheme for property owners in the city, encouraging timely payment of property taxes for the fiscal year 2025-26. According to the official announcement, the rebate is available on payments made on or before May 23, 2025.

Under the scheme, residential property owners are eligible for a 10% rebate, while non-residential property owners can avail a 5% rebate. In an effort to promote digital transactions, the corporation has also introduced an additional 1% rebate for payments made online.

The initiative continues VMC’s practice of offering early payment incentives, aimed at improving the city’s tax collection efficiency. By providing these rebates, the corporation seeks to reduce dependency on formal billing cycles and increase direct citizen participation in municipal revenue management.

Residents can access their property tax details through the VMC’s official website using their property census number. For those preferring offline methods, payment can be made at designated ward offices. However, the extra 1% rebate is applicable only to those who complete the transaction online.

The digital payment option includes the use of net banking, debit/credit cards, UPI, and wallets through the VMC tax portal. This not only offers convenience but also aids the corporation in direct reconciliation of funds, avoiding delays associated with manual processing.

Over the past few years, VMC has increasingly emphasized the use of technology to streamline citizen services. With this rebate initiative, the civic body continues to build on its agenda of simplifying tax compliance and encouraging financial transparency.

The tax collected through this process contributes to funding a wide range of municipal services, including water supply, waste management, and maintenance of public infrastructure. Timely payments play a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted delivery of these services.

VMC has also deployed additional support staff at ward offices to assist citizens with queries related to the rebate scheme. Information desks and helpline numbers have been activated for addressing issues related to property records or payment procedures.
