Singer Alka Yagnik, Daughter Buy Property in Mumbai's Andheri for ₹11.5 Crore
Renowned Bollywood playback singer Alka Yagnik, along with her daughter Syesha Kapoor, has made a high-value real estate acquisition in Mumbai’s upscale Andheri West locality. The mother-daughter duo has bought a luxury apartment for ₹11.5 crore in Oberoi Sky Heights, a premium residential complex in the Lokhandwala Complex area.
According to property registration documents accessed by IndexTap, the apartment spans 2,297 sq ft and was officially registered on April 15. With a per-square-foot rate of ₹50,071, the deal reflects the premium commanded by high-end residences in the area. A stamp duty of ₹57.50 lakh was paid as part of the transaction.
Interestingly, Yagnik already resides in Oberoi Sky Heights, suggesting that the new purchase may either be an upgrade or an investment within the same complex. The development is known for its spacious layouts, central location, and strong community of high-profile residents.
The timing of the purchase is notable as it coincides with a period of heightened activity in Mumbai’s luxury housing market. As per a recent report by real estate consultancy Anarock, the inventory of unsold luxury homes—defined as units priced above ₹1.5 crore—has seen a substantial rise. The stock grew by 24% year-on-year, from 91,125 units at the end of Q1 2024 to over 1.13 lakh units by the end of Q1 2025.
This surge is being driven by a strong influx of new project launches and increasing demand in major cities, particularly the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Despite the rising inventory, interest in premium properties remains robust, as buyers continue to prioritize luxury, location, and long-term asset value.
Yagnik’s acquisition is yet another example of celebrities and high-net-worth individuals showing sustained interest in Mumbai's luxury real estate market, further solidifying its reputation as a preferred investment destination.
