Rajendra Chodankar, RRP Electronics Chairman, Secures ₹34 Crore Luxury Apartment in Mumbai’s BKC
The family of Rajendra Chodankar, Founder and Chairman of RRP Electronics, has made headlines by purchasing a high-end luxury apartment in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) for nearly ₹34 crore. The property, located on the 17th floor of the ultra-premium tower Signia Pearl, covers 3,132 square feet. The apartment was bought under the names of Rajendra's wife, Priyanka Chodankar, and their son, Anay Chodankar.
According to documents accessed via Zapkey.com, the family paid ₹1.90 crore in stamp duty, and the transaction was officially registered on December 26, 2024.
RRP Electronics, the company helmed by Rajendra Chodankar, has recently been in the spotlight for its ambitious plans to invest ₹5,000 crore in establishing a semiconductor manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. The move aligns with India's growing push for domestic chip production, reducing reliance on imports and boosting technological self-sufficiency.
The company has also entered into a partnership with Taiwan’s AMB to produce memory chips, further solidifying its position in the global semiconductor ecosystem.
The real estate transaction reflects the broader boom in India’s luxury property market, especially in Mumbai. Residential property sales in India’s top eight cities, including Mumbai, have reached record highs in 2024, driven by strong demand across all segments, mid-income, premium, and luxury. Mumbai, the country’s most expensive real estate market, continues to see significant high-value transactions, with buyers like the Chodankar family opting for ultra-luxurious homes in prime locations.
Despite inquiries from media outlets, both RRP Electronics and the project developer, Sunteck Realty, have declined to comment on the transaction.
