The Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) Apna Ghar Aawas Yojana saw all 152 flats booked within an hour of opening on September 5, 2025. The scheme, aimed at providing affordable housing across the national capital, is expected to generate revenue of approximately ₹100 crore.
The DDA reported that the rapid uptake of units reflected strong public demand for affordable housing. In response, the authority extended the scheme by three months, with bookings now open until November 26, 2025. The extension ensures that more prospective buyers can access ready-to-move-in flats across different categories and locations in Delhi.
The scheme includes 76 middle-income group (MIG) flats at Lok Nayak Puram, Block D, and 76 economically weaker section (EWS) flats at Narela, Sector A1-A4, Block G. These units have been part of multiple previous schemes since 2023, but the latest offering attracted heightened interest due to innovative marketing strategies and efficient execution under the supervision of Lt Governor VK Saxena.
According to DDA officials, the rapid bookings were facilitated by a first-come, first-served process, with ready-to-move-in units available across all designated locations. The extension of the scheme provides an additional window for buyers seeking access to quality housing in the capital.
In addition to the Apna Ghar Aawas Yojana, DDA launched a premium housing scheme on August 26, 2025. The scheme caters to buyers seeking flats in high-demand areas, including Vasant Kunj, Alaknanda, Dwarka, Jasola, and Rohini. Interested applicants are required to complete online registration for participation in the e-auction and submission of the online EMD by September 24, 2025.
The DDA emphasized that both schemes reflect the authority’s efforts to address diverse housing needs in Delhi. While the Apna Ghar Aawas Yojana focuses on providing affordable options for first-time and low-income buyers, the premium housing scheme targets those seeking established residential neighborhoods with strategic connectivity and facilities.
Officials also noted that the combination of rapid sales and extended booking timelines demonstrates the authority’s commitment to balancing demand and access. The schemes are part of broader measures to increase the availability of ready-to-move-in housing across the city, supporting both social and economic objectives.
