The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to begin registration for its latest round of e-auctions on October 27, offering nearly 100 plots across some of the city’s most sought-after localities. The initiative, which comes just ahead of Diwali, aims to attract individual buyers, developers, and institutions looking to invest in Delhi’s prime land assets.
According to senior DDA officials, the plots have been divided into six categories, covering residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, group housing, and CNG station sites. These include 17 residential plots in Rohini and Rajendra Nagar, 11 institutional plots (some for religious use) in Rohini, 18 commercial plots in Pitampura, and 44 industrial plots in Kirti Nagar, Mangolpuri, and Okhla. Additionally, one CNG station plot in Yamuna Vihar and two group housing plots in areas like Dwarka are also part of the auction list.
“The e-auction process will allow buyers to participate transparently and conveniently through our online portal,” a DDA official said. “The objective is to optimize land use while giving individuals and businesses an opportunity to own property in well-connected and developed parts of Delhi.”
The registration window will remain open from October 27 to November 17, during which applicants must register and deposit their earnest money deposit (EMD). A dedicated help desk has been established to guide applicants through the registration and bidding process.
According to the schedule released by the DDA, online bidding for residential and group housing plots will take place on November 20, followed by the auction for institutional, industrial, CNG, and commercial plots on November 21.
Officials noted that the scheme’s timing, coinciding with the festive season, is likely to boost participation. “Launched around Diwali, this initiative offers a golden opportunity for individuals and investors to acquire land parcels in the capital’s prime locations,” a spokesperson said.
Resumption After Hiatus
The DDA had temporarily paused its e-auction process for over a year and a half due to the implementation of new Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) guidelines. Until 2022, such auctions were conducted quarterly based on land availability and departmental recommendations. The process was resumed recently with licensed property auctions, and this is the first large-scale offering since the hiatus.
“The e-auction reflects DDA’s renewed focus on transparency, ease of doing business, and monetizing land assets efficiently,” an official added.
How to Participate?
Detailed information about the plots, eligibility, and application procedure is available on the DDA’s e-auction website — https://ddaland.etender.sbi
Participants will need to create an online account, upload necessary documents, and pay the EMD through the portal before the registration deadline.
With Delhi’s land supply shrinking and demand for industrial and housing plots rising, experts expect strong interest in this round of auctions, particularly for commercial and residential plots in Rohini, Dwarka, and Pitampura, which continue to be high-demand zones.
