The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has scheduled a massive e- auction drive for over 150 vacant plots and properties in the capital next month, as part of its efforts to realize value on its idle land resources and improve its revenue mobilization efforts. The registration for the electronic auction is set to begin on December 30, with the final schedule for the auction to be released afterwards.

The proposed e-auction covers a wide range of properties such as residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and group housing properties spread across many prime nodal points in the capital city of Delhi. Among the many properties on offer, the one that catches the eye would be the café area in Baansera, along with kiosks, shopping points, and food courts.

According to officials, the plots fall under 11 different categories and include reclaimed as well as newly identified parcels of land. All sites being offered are free from legal encumbrances, ensuring a smoother transaction process for prospective bidders. The initiative was formally launched on DDA’s foundation day, signalling renewed momentum in land disposal activities.

The auction inventory comprises 30 residential plots located in areas such as Rohini and Rajendra Nagar, 41 commercial plots, 20 institutional plots, and 14 industrial plots. In addition, the auction will feature one plot earmarked for a CNG station and two group housing plots in Dwarka. Commercial offerings also include Café Bamboo Oasis at Baansera, shops at Janak Place, five kiosks, and a food court in Dwarka. These properties will be offered on an annual licence fee basis, expanding opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

As per, ET Realty, an official from DDA noted that e-auctions were previously conducted every quarter until 2022, based on land data collated from various departments. However, the process was temporarily halted for nearly 18 months due to regulatory changes following the implementation of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA). With the introduction of a new scheme for auctioning licensed properties, e-auctions have resumed and are now being held more frequently, the official stated.

The last date of e-registration and payment of the earnest money deposit (EMD) has been fixed as January 27. The final dates of the auction will be announced through the official portal of DDA and the registered email ids of the candidates.

With the intention of ensuring a smooth bidding process, a help desk facility is going to be available from December 30. Aspirants can take help, in case of queries related to online signatures, registration, training, and so on, through the helpline numbers available on the DDA website. They can also visit the office of the Commissioner (Land Disposal) at Vikas Sadan.
