Bondada Engineering Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) worth ₹1,050 crore from Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) and its subsidiary for the supply of Balance of System (BOS) equipment for a 650 MW solar power project at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat’s Kutch district.

As per the company’s regulatory filing, the contract involves the design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, packing, and delivery of BOS materials for the project site. The scope also covers Factory Acceptance Tests, rectification and remedial works, and the supply of required tools and equipment.

The BOS components form an essential part of solar power infrastructure, ensuring proper electrical, structural, and mechanical integration across the plant. Bondada Engineering will be responsible for the supply and coordination of these elements to support the 650 MW capacity project under development by Adani Green Energy.

The Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Kutch is being developed as part of Adani Green Energy’s plan to establish a 30 GW renewable power facility across approximately 538 square kilometres of land. The project began in December 2022, with initial power generation starting in December 2023. Once fully operational, Khavda will be the world’s largest power plant by installed capacity, covering both solar and wind power generation. The project site’s total area is nearly five times that of Paris and roughly the size of Mumbai.

Adani Green Energy has outlined an investment of ₹1.5 lakh crore in the Khavda development, while the broader Adani Group expects to invest about ₹2.3 lakh crore in renewable energy and related manufacturing capacity by 2030.

Bondada Engineering, based in Hyderabad, provides engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for renewable, transmission, and telecom sectors. The company has previously executed multiple solar and infrastructure projects across India.

The new LOI strengthens Bondada’s project pipeline and adds to its experience in supplying system components for large-scale renewable energy plants. Its participation in the Khavda project aligns with the company’s focus on expanding its renewable energy business through partnerships with major developers.

India’s renewable energy sector continues to expand under the national goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. The Khavda project represents a significant share of this target and reinforces Gujarat’s role as a major renewable power hub.

Adani Green Energy’s ongoing investments at Khavda are part of its broader strategy to develop integrated renewable energy zones combining solar, wind, and storage capacities. The company has been executing several large projects under long-term power purchase agreements with central and state utilities.

The supply order to Bondada Engineering highlights the increasing participation of domestic engineering and manufacturing firms in India’s renewable sector. It also reflects a continued focus on developing local supply chains for equipment and system components used in large-scale solar projects.

With major developers like Adani Green Energy expanding capacity in western and southern India, demand for BOS and EPC services is expected to remain steady over the next few years. The Khavda project, once completed, will add a substantial amount of clean power to the national grid and support India’s decarbonization goals.
