Kajol Sells Powai Apartment for ₹3.1 Crore, Continues Real Estate Investments
Bollywood actor Kajol Vishal Devgan has sold her 762 sq ft apartment in Mumbai’s Powai area for ₹3.1 crore, according to property documents accessed by Zapkey.com. The transaction was officially registered in March, with Vrushali Rajnish Rane and Rajnish Vishvnath Rane listed as the buyers.
The apartment is located on the 21st floor of the Atlantis Co-Operative Housing Society Limited, Hiranandani Gardens, Powai, a well-known residential complex in the city. The sale also includes two stack car parking spaces. Based on the RERA carpet area, the per sq ft price for the property stands at approximately ₹40,682.
Kajol has been making notable real estate transactions in recent years. Earlier this month, she acquired a commercial space measuring 4,365 sq ft for ₹28.78 crore in Goregaon West, Mumbai. This retail property is situated on the ground floor of a building in Linking Road, Bangur Nagar, and was purchased from Bharat Realty Ventures Pvt Ltd. The transaction reflects the growing demand for commercial properties in Mumbai’s suburban business districts.
In addition to this recent purchase, Kajol made another significant real estate investment in 2023 when she bought an office space in Mumbai for ₹7.64 crore. The office, which has a RERA carpet area of 194.67 sq m, is located within the Signature Building in Oshiwara, along Veera Desai Road in Andheri West. The area is known for its commercial hubs, attracting businesses and professionals seeking well-connected office spaces.
Kajol’s real estate activity has also extended to residential properties. In 2023, she acquired an apartment in Mumbai for ₹16.50 crore from Bharat Realty Ventures Pvt Ltd. The details of the property suggest a focus on high-value real estate investments, aligning with Mumbai’s premium housing market trends.
Kajol’s husband, Bollywood actor, director, and producer Ajay Devgn, has also been involved in Mumbai’s real estate sector. Last year, he leased out a commercial office space spanning 3,455 sq ft for a monthly rent of ₹7 lakh. The leasing transaction highlights the increasing demand for office spaces in the city, driven by business expansion and post-pandemic recovery in the commercial real estate segment.
The sale of Kajol’s Powai apartment comes at a time when Mumbai’s residential property market remains strong, despite rising property prices and changing buyer preferences. Powai, a prominent residential and commercial locality, has seen consistent demand due to its well-planned infrastructure, connectivity, and availability of modern amenities. Hiranandani Gardens, where Kajol’s apartment was located, is a sought-after residential complex known for its premium living environment.
Real estate experts note that Powai’s property market has remained stable, with buyers willing to invest in well-located properties offering modern conveniences. The presence of commercial hubs, IT parks, and reputed educational institutions has contributed to the area’s sustained real estate demand.
Kajol’s continued interest in high-value real estate transactions suggests a strategic approach toward asset diversification, with a mix of residential, office, and commercial properties. While she has sold her Powai apartment, her investments in commercial spaces indicate a shift towards long-term value appreciation and rental income opportunities in Mumbai’s growing real estate market.
