John Abraham Leases Out Three Bandra Apartments for ₹6.3 Lakh Monthly
Bollywood actor John Abraham has leased out three apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area for a cumulative monthly rent of ₹6.3 lakh, according to property registration records accessed recently. The leased units are located in The Sea Glimpse Co-operative Housing Society, a residential complex situated at Bandstand, a well-known seafront locality in the city.
The leasing transaction involves a total lease period of five years. The registered agreement specifies that the monthly rent will remain at ₹6.3 lakh for the first four years, with a revision to ₹8 lakh per month in the fifth year. Over the entire lease term, the total rental income from the deal is projected to be around ₹4.3 crore.
According to details from the lease document, the agreement includes a structured escalation in rental payments. The rent is set to rise by approximately 8% annually during the first two years, followed by a 5% increase over the next two years. In addition to the rent, a security deposit of ₹36 lakh was paid upfront. The agreement was formalized with a stamp duty of ₹1.12 lakh and a registration fee of ₹1,000.
The three flats were jointly leased to two individuals, identified in the documents as Varun Talukdar and Pooja Gupta. Both parties could not be reached for comment regarding the nature of the lease or the intended use of the premises.
The apartments leased by John Abraham are located in a stretch of Bandra that has consistently attracted high-end residential activity. The area, particularly Bandstand, is known for its seafacing properties and is home to several prominent film industry personalities. Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow ‘Mannat’ and Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments are located in the same locality, further elevating Bandra’s profile as a prime residential zone.
The region features a combination of luxury apartments, old housing societies, and new premium developments. Over the years, Bandra West, where Bandstand is located, has witnessed rising demand from both homeowners and tenants, including celebrities, corporate professionals, and expatriates.
This rental transaction follows another notable real estate move by the actor. In December 2023, John Abraham purchased a 5,416 sq ft bungalow in Mumbai’s Khar area, along with the underlying land parcel measuring 7,722 sq ft. The total transaction value for the bungalow was recorded at ₹70.83 crore, according to documents reviewed via IndexTap.com.
The bungalow is located on Linking Road, which is regarded as one of Mumbai’s most active commercial corridors. The area has a mix of residential bungalows and high-street retail outlets. It is also in close proximity to schools, restaurants, and medical facilities, making it a preferred destination for high-net-worth individuals.
The leasing of premium properties by celebrities such as John Abraham reflects sustained interest in Mumbai’s high-end residential market, particularly in locations like Bandra and Khar. While property purchase transactions in this segment tend to attract attention for their scale, long-term leases such as this one also highlight the ongoing demand for high-value rentals in established neighborhoods.
