India’s First Integrated GCC Platform ‘Embark’ Launched by Embassy Group
Embassy Group has announced the launch of Embark, India's first fully integrated platform designed to support the establishment and expansion of Global Capability Centers (GCCs). The initiative aims to simplify the process for global enterprises looking to set up operations in India by offering a comprehensive, end-to-end solution.
India has become a hub for GCCs, with more than 1,700 centers operating in the country. Over 400 new GCCs have been established in the last five years, reflecting the growing reliance of global companies on India for strategic work. These centers function as an extension of corporate headquarters, with more than 6,500 global roles now based in the country.
India's position as a preferred destination for GCCs is driven by several factors. The country has the largest STEM talent pool in the world, a well-developed technology and research ecosystem, cost advantages, and a stable macroeconomic environment. Despite these advantages, setting up a GCC involves multiple challenges, including talent acquisition, organizational structuring, regulatory compliance, and operational integration. Embark is positioned to address these complexities through a structured and execution-focused approach.
Embark provides a range of services that cover the entire lifecycle of a GCC, from initial planning to long-term operations. Its offerings include assistance in vision alignment, location strategy, and organizational structuring. It also supports regulatory compliance, infrastructure development, hiring, cultural integration, and workforce management. Additionally, the platform offers advisory services for business transformation, workforce planning, and operational efficiency.
Embassy Group has been a key player in the Indian real estate sector for over three decades. The company has developed and managed commercial real estate spanning 54 million square feet, alongside residential projects covering 45 million square feet. The company also has expertise in co-working spaces, managed office solutions, hospitality, facility management, and education.
The launch of Embark aligns with Embassy Group’s broader strategy of expanding beyond real estate to provide business solutions. Jitu Virwani, Chairman & Managing Director of Embassy Group, highlighted that Embark is designed to streamline the GCC setup process by removing operational complexities. The initiative is backed by an experienced leadership team with expertise in delivering customized GCC solutions.
Embark will leverage WeWork India’s expertise to provide managed office solutions. This collaboration will help companies access high-quality office spaces tailored to their needs, further simplifying their entry into the Indian market.
The introduction of Embark is expected to reshape the GCC landscape in India by offering a centralized execution platform. By combining real estate expertise with business integration services, Embassy Group aims to create a seamless experience for global enterprises. The platform’s structured approach is designed to help businesses enter the market efficiently and scale operations with minimal challenges.
Embark’s entry into this space reflects a broader trend of integrating business support services with real estate, enabling global companies to establish operations in India with greater ease. As the GCC sector continues to grow, such platforms are likely to play a key role in supporting international firms in setting up and managing their Indian operations.
